Established in 2010, Verdant Books specializes in provocative, engaging literature — fiction, poetry and nonfiction that challenges the dominant paradigm — and in new book formats. We are a socially responsible publishing venture in which writers have control over much of the book’s design and format and actively participate in its production. In terms of creative nonfiction and journalism, we specialize in restorative journalism and true stories that seek not only to tell what happened but to also ask how a situation occurred, what can be learned from it, and how communities can heal after bad things happen.
